EDU 356A Technology in the Classroom Agenda

Class Session Objectives:

  • Explain the role different kinds of technologies play in society and how the integration of technology changes the classroom environment as well as the roles of the teacher and students (12. K1)
  • Use and adapt lessons integrating technology to meet the needs of diverse learners (S7, K2)
  • Communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital-age media and formats (ISTE NETS-T 3.C)

1. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity
  • Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments. Teachers:
  • A. Promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness.
  • B. Engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources.
  • C. Promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students' conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative processes.

  • Students will partner up to develop a public service announcement movie project that addresses one's curriculum area. Movie options include:
    • Green Screen
    • Paperslide
    • Short Movie
    • Movie or Book Trailer
  • Each Group will be responsible for identifying their members, topic, and movie style in Edmodo.
  • During TBD (outside of class) of project students will create storyboard and script.
    • Use Google Docs "Storyboard" template for project
    • Shared storyboard script (Use for filming & production)
    • Have video or individual images for background selected and ready to edit video
  • Shooting will take place TBD (for green screen option) at Sterling High School
